I wanted to change up the route of my run today, so I did. I wanted to run more back roads than main roads this time. I did run on one of the two major roads here, but it wasn't for a very long time - maybe one-half to three-quarters of a mile. But while I was getting back to the house, I looked at my stopwatch [on my watch], and it was showing about 25 minutes and some-odd seconds. I knew I wasn't done running yet because there was no way I knocked at least 1:30 off of my time. So I decided to just run a little bit longer.
I ended up running 2.6 miles in 32:38.72!! Not a great time, but the run felt really good to me because I wasn't very winded and I didn't feel like my legs were going to give out on me. So that all means that I know I can pick up the pace next time and push myself a little bit harder - which I definitely will!! I feel that I am doing a pretty good job at working to achieve my goal of being able to run 5 miles by October.
