Lifting

As I've mentioned before, I would like to start lifting. I used to lift years ago, simply because I wanted to and I enjoyed it. I think that this week, I'm going to maybe start lifting. I really would like to do more upper body stuff, and lifting would be great for that, rather than just using my light weights all of the time.

I told Mark about how I'd like to start lifting, and that once I start, I'd like to continue lifting. I then mentioned that if we move in a house when we move again that has either an extra room or garage, we should turn one of those areas into our own little gym and buy stuff for lifting. Mark will be reenlisting in a few months, and I think it would be absolutely awesome if we bought stuff for lifting. It'd be more convenient for us to be able to work out at home, on our own time, we wouldn't have to pay for a gym membership anywhere [well, I wouldn't at least], we wouldn't be wasting money on gas to get to and from a gym, we wouldn't have to worry about whether or not a gym has child care/how much extra it costs/how long they'll watch the kids a day while we work out, and all of that kind of stuff. I just think that buying stuff for lifting would be great for us!!

We already have the Total Gym and a bike, so why not get stuff for lifting?! We could get a treadmill, too, if we wanted, but it's not on the top of the list. We have a jogging stroller, so Mark and I could just go out and run together while he pushes the boys.

I really want Mark and I to start working out together when he gets home - especially if we have our own stuff. I think it'd be fun. It would be something else we can do together, rather than just watching TV and movies all of the time. Also, I think it'd set a good example for our boys and we could teach them how important exercise is. I want to show them that it's important, not just tell them it is and be a lazy bum myself.

  1. I totally want a gym at home. I don't know why, but working out without meatheads around really makes a differencem lol. I'm so proud of you!!! Keep up all the hard work :)

  2. HAHA. I don't think I could handle a ton of guys around acting like hardasses. I think I'd want to kick them all in their 'roided balls. HAHA.

Thank you!! I'm definitely going to try to keep up all of the hard work. I'm loving the changes I've seen within just the past 3 weeks - so that's a lot of motivation to keep me going.
