WHAT WHAT!!!!

HA.

This whole past week of working out has just been nothing short of amazing and pure hard work. I've set new personal bests and I'm getting closer and closer to my goals!! My determination and motivation hasn't once faltered, rather it's been climbing to new heights!!

Yesterday, I went lifting - just like I do on Fridays. It wasn't till later in the day, though, that I went lifting. I had some errands to run in the morning, and in the afternoon, my MIL stopped over for a little bit. But I definitely went lifting, and I didn't slack off at all. For my quads, I bumped up the weight I lifted by 10 pounds!! For my hamstrings, I bumped up the weight I lifted by 10 pounds, too!! I started off on the elipitical for a few minutes, then went and did some lifting [quads: 20 reps at 35, 15 reps at 45, 15 reps at 55, and 10 reps at 65; hamstrings: 20 reps at 25, 15 reps at 35, 10 reps at 40]. After lifting, I went back to the eliptical for a few minutes, then right back to some more lifting [quads: same as before; hamstrings: 15 reps at 25, 15 reps at 35, 10 reps at 45]. I was done with lifting, and went back on the eliptical for a little bit. Once I was done with lifting and going on the eliptical, I did some ab work and lower body stuff [minus the weights]. I felt like yesterday was a huge success. I lifted more weight yesterday than I did Monday, and I am beyond thrilled about that!! Who wouldn't be?!

I already went on my Saturday run today. I got out of bed at 6:10, and was out the door at 6:30. I ran 3.15 miles in 36:27.03!! I was so happy to break that 3-mile barrier!! Even though I thought it was super cold outside [between 55-60 degrees], I feel like I did a pretty good job with my run. The first two miles were pretty good [for me]. I averaged about 11 minutes per mile [for those first two miles], but I definitely did slow down a little bit after that. Even though I did slow down, I'm proud of myself. When I started really getting serious with running [on June 2nd], I couldn't even run one-quarter of a mile. It's taken a lot of hard work, dedication, determination, and endurance to get to where I am now. Sure, there are days when I'd just like to run 1-2 miles and call it a day, but I'm not going to do that because I know that I'll just stick with that and not push myself toward my goal of 5 miles. Settling is just not how I roll!! But let me tell you something, while I was running, I was so motivated by all of the American flags and 4th of July decor I saw on houses and in yards!! That really got me motivated!! It was truly amazing to see!!

I am so happy and so proud of all that I've accomplished this week!! The new personal bests between yesterday and today, and we can't forget about the personal best I set on Wednesday with bench pressing.

What a week it has been for me!! Bring on more weeks like this where I'm constantly setting new personal bests!!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY, EVERYONE!!!!
