WE'RE HERE!!!!

So we made it to our destination yesterday morning around 10:40 [central time]. Well, the boys and I did; Mark didn't get here till about an hour after us.

The first day of traveling, Wednesday, we drove all the way to Alabama. We stopped for the night right inside the Alabama border and stayed at a Holiday Inn. The drive wasn't too bad, but there sure was a LOT of rain!! And I'm not talking a nice, pleasant rain storm either. I'm talking heavy, fast rain fall!! The rain lasted all through North Carolina, 98% of South Carolina, and it finally was nice and sunny out once we got near Atlanta. Luckily I'm from Ohio and know how to drive in all kinds of weather like a pro [trust me when I say that driving in northeast Ohio during the winter is a great way to really become a great driver - as long as you don't get in any accidents]. The boys did a great job in the car and didn't fuss much at all. The boys are so used to being in the car for long periods of time though, so it's not surprising that they did a great job. When we got to the hotel though, that's another story. I wanted to rip my hair out because they just wanted to run around, jump on the beds, and be loud. All I wanted to do was relax in bed and watch some TV for a little bit while we waited for Mark to get to the hotel, then go to sleep once he got there.

We woke up kind of early yesterday, Thursday, morning. We got ready, had some breakfast, then we left. We stayed right next to a gas station, so I stopped there to get some gas before getting back on the road. Mini anxiety attack happened. I couldn't find the GPS. I knew I unhooked it from the car the night before so it wouldn't be in the car all night and someone break into our car to steal it. I called Mark to let him know I couldn't find. He said he hadn't left yet, so not to worry. I get out of the car to put some gas in the tank, and the pump's card reader was broken. That irritated me. Since I was in anxiety mode, I had to really concentrate and make sure that I closed the car door before putting the car in reverse to get to the pump behind me, or else I would've pulled a Chris Farley in "Tommy Boy" and the car door would've broken off. It's safe to say that the driver's door is still on the car! So I put some gas in the car, and as the tank is getting gas, I look in the front of the car and in my purse for the GPS. I couldn't find it. The gas was done pumping, so I took care of that stuff, got back in the car, called Mark to ask him why he wasn't over at the gas station to help me look for the GPS, and I pulled the car into a parking spot. I go in the back of the car and start searching bags we took into the hotel with us. I looked in the boys' bag of stuff because I had put some random stuff in there before we left the hotel, but it wasn't in there. I checked the Adidas bag, and I couldn't see it. The GPS could only have been in the boys' bag or the Adidas bag. I started digging in the Adidas bag. I found it! Crisis averted! I was NOT going to follow Mark all the way to Florida. Forget that! I'd feel like I was dragging the whole time. I don't speed like I used to, but I like to go 5-10 over the speed limit. [I've gotten two speeding for majorly speeding - especially the second speeding ticket - so I try not to be speed demon anymore.]

When the boys and I got here, we went to McDonald's for lunch because all they kept saying the last 30 minutes of the trip was "fries", "chicken", and their way of saying "McDonald's". We were there for about an hour, and Mark texted me saying that he's over in our new neighborhood. He was there with the realtor who's selling the house, and they were going to go to the house to walk through it to see if the changes had been made. The boys and I went over and met up with them, and we went to the house. Not all of the changes had been made, so hopefully they were made yesterday since today is our final walk through. We left the house and checked into a hotel here. Mark picked out the hotel, that's all I'm saying. We went to World Market and Lowe's to get a few things for the house, got some food, and just chilled in the room. I fell asleep before 8:00 PM. I was so tired!

Like I mentioned before, today is our final walk through. It's actually in about an hour and a half from now [10:00 AM central time]. Then at 1:00 PM [central time], we will be closing on the house. I can't wait to actually move into our new house and get to decorating!! We've already gotten a lot of paint for the house, so I'm going to get to work right away!!
